چکیده
Abstract Computer programming is a key component of any physical science or engineering degree and skill sought by employers. Coding can be very appealing to these students as it logical another setting where they solve problems. However, many often reluctant engage with the material might not interest them see how applies their wider study. Here, I present lessons have learned recommendations increase participation in courses for majoring sciences engineering. The discussion examples are taken from my second-year core undergraduate physics module, Introduction Programming Physicists, taught at University Manchester, UK. Teaching this course, developed successful solutions that applied STEM courses.

Teaching Mathematics to Engineering Students*
Some new ideas in teaching mathematics to engineering students and the implementation of these ideas into the teaching of mechanical engineering students at Brighton University are discussed. The importance of explaining to the students why knowledge of mathematics is essential for their future practical work is emphasized. Mathematics is a language for expressing physical, chemical and enginee...
متن کاملTeaching Programming to Students in other Fields
It is a fact that programming is difficult to learn. On the other hand, programming skills are essential for each program in the field of computing and must be covered in the curriculum, regardless of the profile. Our experience in the last 3-4 years shows a noticeable downward trend in students’ results in computer science and similar programs. In this article, we comment on the reasons that h...

Teaching Functional Programming to Rst-year Students
In the period 1986-1991, experiments have been carried out with an introductory course in computer programming, based on functional programming. Due to thorough educational design and evaluation, a successful course has been developed. This has led to a revision of the computer programming education in the rst year of the computer science curriculum at the University of Twente. This article des...
